A series of dinners using fresh St Paul Farmers Market Produce/ingredients beginning July 12th, 2009

The Black Dog Caf�� pairs up with innovative St Paul Chef, Shelagh Connolly, from the infamous Mildred Pierce restaurant, to bring you market dinners at the Black Dog Cafe. Monthly dinners will begin Sunday evening July 12th at 6pm (and will continue on the 2nd Sunday of the months following). To ensure the freshest quality, Shelagh will purchase ingredients on Sunday morning at the St Paul Farmers Market located across the street from the Black Dog Caf��. Come and join us as Shelagh accepts the challenge of what is fresh and how to cook it in the limited kitchen available at the Black Dog.

The Black Dog Caf�� has long been a supporter and regular user of the St Paul Farmers Market. Look for daily specials using market produce and products. As a long time patron purchasing produce and products from the Market over the years The B lack Dog has decided to take this one step further and prepare a full wine dinner.

Vegetarian and Meat options are available.

Dinners will be table service and will require a prepaid reservation. Seating is limited and tables may be shared. $40 includes dinner and wine. Gratuity not included.

Possible sample dinner would include:

reception course
assorted farmers market cheeses and berries skewer
first course
grilled summer squash melange with crispy bacon, gouda crouton and pea shoots
second course
greens salad with spring onion vinaigrette & radish
cucumber mint gazpacho
main course
barbecue lamb ribs with wild rice and new potato hash
greta���s rhubarb meringue pie with candied ginger
