The Black Hammock Adventure complex is east of Orlando and just north of Oviedo, at the end of a winding road through citrus groves. The complex includes fantastic airboat rides, a gift shop, the Lazy Gator Bar, and a display of live gators, including a 35-year-old gator named Hammy who inhabits a cage all to himself near the lakeside docks. On Sundays you get to see the gators being fed (weather permitting) At its entrance is the Black Hammock Restaurant, under new management with our talented new chef, where baby gators lounge in an aquarium that backs up against a booth in the dining room.
**We will have half the space of the enclosed back patio reserved for 20 of us. We can not have more that that without having to pay to rent the space. **So I won't be able to add more seats later if the 20 get filled up. It's a pretty big pack patio. Then we will go over to The Lazy Gator for drinks and listen to live music. The music will be indoors, but we can sit outside at the tables overlooking the water if we want, or go inside to listen to the band. The band starts at 9pm. If you buy any dinner entree at Black Hammock, you get a FREE drink voucher usable at the Lazy Gator Bar (use same day only.) They only have appetizers, not a real dinner, at The Lazy Gator. They have house wine and wines by the bottle for dinner at Black Hammock. And 2-4-1 Margaritas All Day, Every Day at both places!
Country Singer Jake Owen’s “8 Second Ride“ music video was filmed on location at the Lazy Gator Bar. Jake Owen has won the 2009 ACM Top New Male Vocalist award and the 2012 American Country Awards Breakthrough Artist of the Year! (* fyi- A video in which I had a chance to be a background extra, but had to work! Ugh!)
