How did you hear about the NYC Italian Language, Food & Culture Club?

Meetup search

What kinds of events would you like our group to host?

Casual, cocktail and appetizer, music, events if they are on a weekday, I can show up an hour late since I live in NJ and tend to work late every day. Weekends would be interested in guided food/wine tastings.

What inspired you to learn Italian?

I have no idea! I started studying it on my own in Alabama in 1984. Beautiful language and people! 18 years later, I ended up with a Ph.D. in Romance Linguistics, focus on French and Italian. Now I work in food.

Do you have any expertise related to Italian language, food or culture that might be useful in planning our future events and activities?

I work for an importer. I'm really really into Italian cheese/cuisine. Wine, also. My co. is really big, so they unfortunately don't fund small events, but if anybody needs cheese support, I'm there in person. Used to teach cheese/wine classes.

What level of Italian do you speak? 1. Beginner 2. Conversant 3. Advanced/Native

Advanced.

Introduction

What Elizabeth is saying about this Meetup Group

I didn't meet so many people since we were in class. I hope a lot of them speak Italian because I need to practice!
