Meetup: Greenville's Judgment of Paris

France versus California Blind Tasting at The Community Tap

In our own version of the famous 1976 wine tasting competition, the 'Judgment of Paris', we will be blind tasting a total of six wines - 3 from California and 3 from France. Come help us decide which wine producing region deserves to take home the title of our "Judgment of Greenville" - it will be fun and informative, no doubt!

For those not familiar with the competition, there is an entertaining movie that the meetup group watched together called Bottle Shock.  You can read about it at:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0914797/  In a nutshell, it is the point that the world started looking at California wines as something they would want to drink, and not just dismiss them out of hand.  It was an important turning point in the wine world, and we hope to have fun with our own blind tasting of California vs. France.

Join us on Tuesday, August 13th from 6:30 - 7:30 PM to explore six phenomenal wines at a cost of only $20 per person (paid through the meetup site when you RSVP), so be sure to RSVP quickly, as many of our meetup members are thirsty for a meetup! Cheers!

I'll be leading this event at The Community Tap and am very much looking forward to seeing reactions and hearing thoughts as guests taste the selected wines blind. I've often thought that blind tasting is the best way to educate one's palate and this should be a very fun and interesting exercise!

I'd really love to attend, but can't that night. Hope you do this again...and I hope you post the results!

I was shocked to find a report that top wine tasters were confusing very inexpensive wines with much more expensive...so this blind testing idea is great!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
