Opportunity: Maysara Wine Dinner in Soby's Wine Cellar

  • January 23, 2013 · 6:30 PM

Update[masked]: All seats in the Wine Cellar have sold out. However, seats are still available in the restaurant for the abbreviated menu — 4 courses and 3 wines at $60 per person, plus tax and tip ($76.80 total).

I have changed the price for this opportunity accordingly, but remember you MUST phone Soby's at[masked] to secure your reservation. RSVPing here just lets your Meetup friends know you will be attending, but does NOT ensure you will have a seat.

Join Sommelier, Kevin Born, in Soby's newly-renovated Wine Cellar on Wednesday, January 23 for an exclusive 6-course wine dinner with Maysara winemaker Tahmiene Momtazi.

Maysara Winery was awarded #14 in the Wine Spectator Top 100 in 2012 for their 2009 Maysara Pinot Noir Estate Cuvée. Join Kevin for dinner in Soby's Wine Cellar and you'll get to taste this award wining wine that is now sold out across the country.

The evening will begin with hors d'oeuvres at 6:30 pm and dinner at 7:00 pm. You'll enjoy 6 courses and 5 wines in the intimate setting of the Soby's Wine Cellar. Most Greenville residents have never seen Soby's Wine Cellar for a simple reason: it was not open to the public. But for Soby's 15th Anniversary, the Cellar was expanded and renovated, and a (somewhat secret) stairway was built directly from the restaurant to the Cellar.  Seating in the Cellar is VERY limited, but you have the opportunity to secure a seat NOW.

Dinner will be $100 per person, plus tax and gratuity. You may RSVP through this site to let Meetup friends know you are going, but you MUST phone Soby's at[masked] to secure your reservation. RSVPing here does NOT ensure you will have a seat.

If you are unable to reserve one of the seats in the Wine Cellar, or prefer to dine at a different time, Soby's will also be offering an abbreviated version of the menu in the restaurant all evening. Make your reservation and experience Maysara Vineyards and Chef Shaun's creations with 4 courses and 3 wines for $60 per person, plus tax and tip. Note however, this menu option is available to entire tables only and does not include the 2009 Maysara Estate Cuvée.

Call Soby's at[masked] to make your reservation for an evening of great wine and food, but hurry, because Wine Cellar space is EXTREMELY limited!

Just a reminder:  This is NOT a Greenville Wine Meetup. Postings that begin with the word “Opportunity” are events your Meetup leadership team thinks you should know about, and might enjoy. These are events open to the public, staffed and operated by the host location.

Only postings that begin with the word “Meetup” are run entirely by your Meetup leadership team (and in most cases, are only open exclusively to Greenville Wine Meetup members).

Although all possible efforts are made to ensure every event posted to our Meetup site will be a high quality, enjoyable occasion (knowing that sort of "editorial selectivity" has been exercised for events that are posted is part of the value you receive from being a Meetup member), please always let us know if you are have questions or concerns.

Menu looks great! I can't tell by the wine names which ones are white or red.

Hi Cindy! Glad the menu looks good. I've asked Kevin for more info on the wines, but the first course is the only white. Second course is rosé, as noted. The remaining three will be red. Hope that helps! Know you would prefer the opposite, of course. <smile>
