I know it's short notice, but you don't want to miss Andre Mack at Bar Covell, Monday, 6/17, the exact time TBA, but I'll be there at 7 p.m. He makes fine wine with a modern edge. Andre gave up a successful career at Citiicorp to do what he loves most: see the delight on people's faces when they drink great wine. The former sommelier at Thomas Keller's French Laundry and Per Se, his rosé, Love Drunk, and unoaked chardonnay, Knock on Wood, are works of art--not to mention Mouton's Burgundy-inspired, Oregon pinot noirs: O.P.P. (Other People's Pinot) and Oregogne. He is the first African-American to be named Best Young Sommelier in America by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. The fee is $15.00 for three wines and to meet Mr. Mack, payable at Bar Covell.
