Do you have a favorite region for wine and if so where is it?

The Alsace region of France, the Finger Lakes (where I worked as a wine taster), and the Columbia Valley of Washington. Oh and South America can sometimes have something interesting...

What wine do you prefer red or white?

Tell everyone what your favorite wine is and why.

Cabernets...warmth and power, Pinots for smoothness and sometimes velvet, the whites of Alsace for their very dry crispness with the surprising finish, and reds from south america are just flat out bold.

"I am originally from the deep south (please do not hold this against me) lived upstate for several years and just recently moved to the area. I am a "older" grad student in forensic linguistics. Love wine, but don't take my self too serious about it"

Julia, welcome!! Try and make the next meetup if possible. I am really the only old guy in the group and everyone seemed to have a good time at the last meetup. I grew up in El Dorado but lived 87-2011 in Lit Rock. My undergrad degree from ULM. Can't believe they beat the Razorbacks!! If you are a fan go to U of A Alumni - NY Chapter and get on email list. Learn about official Hog Bar. Huge AR crowd every game.
