We are joining Team Long Beach for a Bicycle Ride on the LA River Bike Path and a Holiday Gingerbread Party after the ride!

First we'll take the Blue Line Metro from the downtown Los Angeles Pico Metro Station to the Long Beach Wardlow Metro Station. Then we will be riding our bikes from Long Beach Wardlow Metro Station up the LA River bike path to the home of Chris & Mel near the Los Angeles Pico Metro Station for their Holiday Open House and Gingerbread Decorating Party! If you don't want to go to the party and just want to bike ride with us that's ok too.

NOTE: Only 10 spots are available for this ride so please be sure you can join us before you RSVP that you are coming. It is very important to let me know if you are coming to the party also or not so I can give the host an accurate count.

    MEETING OPTIONS:

    1. You can meet us at Chris & Mel's house (the party hosts) at 8:30AM. Their house is 2 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles. You can park your car near their house and bike ride over to the Pico Metro Station. If you are planning to do so, please call me to get their address. My cell phone number is located in the RSVP questions.

    2. You can meet us at the Pico Metro Station (on the Blue or Expo lines) at 9:00AM.

These are ways to get to the Pico Metro Station at 1236 S Flower St., Los Angeles, CA:

    a. You can ride your bicycle to the Pico Metro Station.

    b. You can drive to the Pico Metro Station with your car and park near the station. If you drive your car please allow  enough time to find parking. You may need to bring money to pay the parking meters or to park in a paid lot.

    c. You can arrive at the Pico Metro Station by bus or a Metro train. If you arrive by bus or train please allow extra time in case your bus or Metro train is running late.

The ride is an easy flat spin up the river path and a few more quick urban miles to our party destination.  Once we are there we will enjoy the holiday festivities before heading back. Leave your party clothes in your car to change into and be more comfortable when you get back.

The Metro line train fare to Long Beach on the Blue Line is $3.00 and you must purchase a Tap Card at the Metro Station for an additional fee to ride the train.

    A NOTE ABOUT SAFTEY:

Your safety is of UTMOST importance to us.  In order to be as safe as possible we ride predictably and communicate on the road.  We follow ALL rules of the road. And this means stopping at all stop signs, stop lights, etc.  Just like you are in a car.  We call out or point out road hazards to your fellow cyclists, and we ride single file.

Of course, required equipment is as follows:

Helmet - this is a MUST - you cannot ride with us without one!

    Bike

Water bottles - recommended one water, one electrolyte drink

Bright colors/bike lights for riding in the evening - visibility is important.

    ID with emergency contact info

    Spare tubes for your bike

A way to pump up your tires (either a pump or CO2 cartridges.)

NO RIDER WILL BE LEFT BEHIND!!!
