The Wellington Epic Yum Cha Association is all about getting together for yum cha on a regular basis. Beginners and expert dim sum wranglers welcome. You don't need to know one end of a chopstick from the other (you can even use a knife and fork).

We book a table at a yum cha restaurant in the city almost every weekend at around 11am.  This is a great way to get brunch, catch up with friends, and meet new ones.  Everyone is welcome, bring some friends if you want (be sure to indicate on your RSVP).
