Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. It stores your entire conversation via a reviewable timeline.View a Quirky 2-minute YouTube video >The presentation on Google Wave will be given by Adam Reich, an IT professional with an extensive background in knowledge management strategies, collaborative computing applications, customer technical support, and expertise in analyzing, implementing & testing global software solutions. Adam is also the board of ?Meet the Geeks? as Operations Director. Following a 9 year career with IBM in both Cambridge, MA and Asheville, NC, Adam is currently seeking new career opportunities in the Asheville area where he has lived for the past five and a half years.
Google Docs is a Web based, "software as a service" set of applications that allows you to easily create, edit, share, and collaborate on word processing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with anyone from anywhere via your browser.View a Sketchy 2-minute YouTube video >The presentation on Google Docs will be given by Dan Stryker. Dan is a seasoned Web and software product manager that recently used Google Docs to manage the collaborative development and launch of Data.gov by a geographically dispersed team. Dan's previous experience includes managing several paid search driven sites for Cars.com and the dealer leads and multimedia products for Edmunds.com. He has personally overseen the design, development and management of high volume consumer facing applications that were deployed on sites such as About.com, AOL, CNN, eBay, MSN, the New York Times, Realtor.com, and Yahoo. After receiving his Industrial Engineering degree from Georgia Tech, Dan worked as a systems integration consultant with Accenture in Atlanta before moving to California to get his MBA at Berkeley and work in high tech product management. Dan now calls Asheville home and does not whatsoever miss California's long commutes and high housing prices.
