This group is for those hikers out there who want to challenge themselves, while meeting up with like-minded individuals.
We are active in all four seasons, from snowshoe to mud to bugs, and everything in between. We are not limited to hiking in the Western New York area, but have and are offering hiking and backpacking excursions in the Adirondacks Mountains in Upstate New York; Ontario, Canada, Pennysylvania, and the Grand Canyon. Future adventures will be scheduled for the White Mountains in New Hampshire, the Green Mountains in Vermont and the Catskills.
All hikers participate at their own risk. Hiking should always be within your comfort and skill level. Please read the Meetup description carefully and email the event organizer if you have any questions about your ability to complete the hike. By signing up for a hike, you are stating that you are physically able to complete the event listed. You are responsible for your own safety and assume all risks and liabilities on all outings. Event organizers are unpaid volunteers and should not be relied upon to have any special skills or training.
Our group is always looking for those with leadership skills, who wish to plan, organize and lead their own hiking events. If interested, please contact one of the leadership team.
This is a community funded group, meaning that voluntary donations are graciously accepted. Funds are used to offset the costs that are associated with maintaining the site - helping to sustain both the group and it's programs.
We do have some rules:
We offer both challenging hikes for experienced hikers only and more leisurely hikes for those who may not want to commit to a more strenuous hike. Those attending events must have appropriate footwear, clothing and essential gear.
A positive attitude is a must - no complainers allowed.
Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome, unless otherwise noted.
Our group has zero tolerance for those that sign up for an event and do not show up.
With that in mind, let's get out, have some fun and hit those trails!
