how to find out what's happening in Madison

The other night at Yahara Bay someone asked about resources for finding out what's happening in Madison. I honestly probably network a little too much so I hear about things but there are a lot of sources out there. Of course there are a ton of MeetUp groups that help inform you on what's going on in Madison.

The Chamber Websites are great for keeping up. As well as the radio station, newspaper and TV station's Websites.

A friend of mine, Marian Walluks ( from Wisconsin Women's Entrepreneurs puts out a newsletter with a ton of happenings around town. Focused a lot on networking opps. Email her if you'd like to join the emailing list.

Networking - like I said I probably do too much but here's some of my list:

  • Forward Motion luncheon: first Tuesday of every month at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
; there is a membership for this group
  • MAX luncheon: first Wednesday of every month at Bonfyre (in the back room); no membeship
  • Go Small Biz (or also on FB as Business Builder's Breakfast); typically third or fourth Thursday of every mo at 7:30AM at Yola's Cafe; no membership
  • Wisconsin Women's Entrepreneurs (http://www.wwesouthce... very active group of women; check site for events. Let me know if you want me to meet you at any. I'm involved in Girls Biz with this group too. There is a membership for this group.
  • High Tech Happy Hour (http://www.facebook.c... next happy hour is this Thursday - no membership
  • Dane Buy Local (http://www.danebuyloc... very large buy local organization (over 660 members). There is a membership for this group.
  • Sauk Trails Optimist: meet every Wednesday for lunch at Radisson Hotel on Odana Rd. Pay for lunch and has a membership. Optimist International is the Friend of Youth!

I also volunteer a ton. Just let me know what you're thinking about doing and I might have some info.

Hope this is helpful and that you have a great day,
