Spiritual Poetry Meetup

We will get together Saturday February 8th to share spiritual poetry, light refreshments, and talk about what the poems mean to us. The January meetup was one of the most powerful and heartfelt yet, and I am excited to see what February will bring!  This meetup is a relaxed and welcoming space to meet and get to know others who share a love for poetry and for that which connects us more deeply with spiritual life, whatever our spiritual path or personal history.  Our sharing allows us to get to know each other on a level beyond the surface, and it is wonderful to truly meet each other in this way.  Bring a book of poems or choose a poem from the many books we have on hand – you can read a poem, share copies of a poem, or just listen and chat – whatever feels comfortable.  Feel free to bring a small snack or finger food if you wish.  (P.S. For the poets among us, we are grateful to you for bringing your insights and heart-knowledge to our group, and for understanding that this is a place to share others' poems, not our own.)  This meetup is also posted on the Santa Monica Spiritual Poetry Meetup site, and members of that group will be joining us as well.

By the way, if you'd like to see notes on poems people shared, check out the comments for past meetups.

A lovely gathering of many diverse cultures and perspectives -- poems from both newly-discovered and familiar voices exploring our relationship with the Ultimate. I promise to post the list of poems soon! Thank you all.

The common thread of most of the poems was the gateway into the Divine Moment Now. I love these meetups; they are so fulfilling and uplifting; a great panacea for the weary urbanite.

Every spiritual poetry meetup brings me immense wonder and amazement at the variety of interpretations of words of art.
If you have not experienced this yet, you need to ask yourself why and get thee hither!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
