Give yourself a "vacation" the 4th Wednesday evening of each month to discuss with other women why we love to travel and to learn about nontraditional travel experiences and destinations. We will consider such questions as: What can we learn from other people and places, and how can we travel responsibly and with respect for the Earth's wonders? How can travel help us lead more compassionate and sane lifestyles? What prompts us to leave our comfort zones for the uncertainties of the larger world? How does travel challenge us? What do we most value in our journeys? What destinations excite us and speak to our "inner wanderers"?
We'll meet at the Wash Perk coffee house at the corner of Ohio and Emerson Streets, west of Washington Park. Meetings will include conversation, guided discussion, presentations, travel readings, and travel videos and films.
While I hope participants will make friends and meet travel partners, that is not the main goal of this group. Rather, it is to celebrate our love of travel by engaging in thought-provoking conversation about what it all means. Please note that this group does not focus on the “how to” of making travel arrangements, on general travel tips, or on highly popular, traditional tourist destinations.
