Hi, everyone! Besides our normal political discussions, we will once again be leaders in our community's political process by helping our candidates get elected in the upcoming cycle. This meeting is critital for getting the petitioning process off to a running start. We hope all of our members will understand that this change to a Monday night meeting is designed to ensure that we can have petitions signed properly and quickly.
“ In this meeting we first voted to endorse William Thompson for Mayor, Eric Gioia for Public Advocate, John Liu, for Comptroller, Helen Marshall for Borough President.
In a separate vote, in which we considered how many friends and Club members were participating in local elections this year, we
a) had a tie between incumbent City Council Member Helen Sears and District Leader Daniel Dromm for our preference in the City Council, 25th District race, and
b) voted to endorse Diedre Feerick for the City Council, 26th District.
We handed out petition and instructions to all members present, and even had a visit from City Council Member and candidate for City Comptroller, John Liu, who thanked the Club for it's constant support. ”
