Meetup Description: Welcome to Monday Night Shop Class!
Table Saw 101 is back by popular demand, and this time we will be doing a project while we learn essential table saw techniques and safety: art framing. As you learn the basics of cross-cutting and ripping wood, you will also build a simple mitered and rabbeted picture frame for a poster/painting/photo of your choice.
All the project materials will be provided--choose from maple, cherry or oak for your wood and even include a glass front if you want. You'll just bring the artwork to be framed.

Here is the agenda:

7pm - 7:15pm - Meet and greet.

7:15 - 7:45 - Presentation and discussion on table saw capabilities, techniques and safety. Q&A.

7:45 - 9:00 - Hands-on demo and project time. Each person will learn essential table saw techniques such as how to safely rip and cross-cut using the fence and miter jig; how to avoid dangerous kick-back; adjusting blade height and tilt and how to change blades. Then we will learn how to miter corners and rabbet edges on the table saw while building the frames.

Fee is $50 + $25 materials fee. Includes all materials and safety equipment.
Class space is limited to 5 people.
Please reserve your spot for this class by registering and paying at the Makeville Studio online store, or with Paypal through Meetup.

Successful completion of this class can be applied toward Makeville Studio Workshop Certification. More info...
