School Supplies Drive - Donate on 6/9 or 6/27

Greater Worcester Humanists is having a drive to provide school supplies for needy families in the Worcester area. We were told by the staff of the food pantry that recently opened at the UU Church of Worcester that there is a real need for school supplies, and we thought this would be an appropriate need for our group to address.

The school supplies will be distributed on August 15th. The Meetup is full. Thanks for helping.

Greater Worcester Humanists did a fantastic job collecting education supplies for the Food Pantry of Worcester this year. Every year the Food Pantry gathers these supplies for students in need of assistance so they can start off their school year with the basic necessities. Thank you to all of our volunteers, members, Boston Atheists and all other contributing friends for your very generous efforts. There were enough supplies to make close to 60 supply bags! This will most definitely be an annual project! AUGUST SUPPLIES – YEAR 2009 BACK-TO-SCHOOL DONATIONS INVENTORY 25 Backpacks 54 Notebooks 26 packs Loose-Leaf Paper 660 Pencils 15 pkg Colored Pencils 172 Pens 23 pkg Markers 13 pkg Highlighters 34 pkg Crayons 2 Liquid Glue 28 Glue Sticks 6 Scissors 14 Rulers 3 3-ringed Binders 21 Pocket Folders/Portfolios 20 Pencil Cases and a bunch of miscellaneous items!
