Talk by Jesse Galef of the Secular Community Project

  • May 13, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • UU Church of Worcester

Join us at our May meeting where we will be joined by Jesse GalefCommunity Coordinator for the Secular Community Project

Lecture Abstract:
More and more Americans are leaving religion, with around 20% of the population saying they’re unaffiliated with any religion. We’re witnessing a major shift in how our nation approaches culture and community. But as people leave the churches, synagogues, and mosques where are they going?  Will they organize around secular communities, or drift and remain unorganized?  What options are available for secular Americans?

Jesse Galef will address these questions and share his vision for how we can take advantage of this opportunity to serve people’s real, human needs – and end up shaping the nation.

The program is scheduled to start at 7pm at the UU Church of Worcester, with doors opening at 6:30 for socializing and conversation. Whether you are a member or not, please consider a donation at the door.  Please watch this page for changes.
