We'll go over how to create a child theme and when and why you want to use child themes, and and when and why you may NOT want to use child themes. Pizza and beverages will be provided. Cost is $10.

Good morning everyone!
Let's meet by the sponsor/speaker check-in table at the top of the stairs. We can quickly decide what we want to do/discuss & where to have the meetup.

Kathleen, you might try & volunteer. Check out the site for more info. Not saying you'll get in, but worth a shot. Also, throw a tweet @WordCampChicago & ask about volunteering. Good luck.
Hope to see you there.

Thanks - It looks like I'll be able to go. See you there!
Kathleen, are yo here Friday, if so what track. I'm in 201
No I can't go on Friday - I was too late to sign up. Will be there Sat & Sun though.
Hi there. I'll be in the 301 track tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you all!
Will do, Brian. Havnt figured out travel logistics yet but I'm hoping to arrive prior to first session. Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting some more of the group!
Hi all - looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend! I'll find Brian and hope that will lead me to all of you :-) Is anyone else staying at the University Conference Center? I'll be there starting tomorrow night. Travel safe and see you soon!
Thanks, Brian! I haven't even looked at the itinerary. I'll try to do so tomorrow on the WC website. Dan
I will be in the 201 meeting on Friday. Just a reminder: Kennedy Expressway will be under construction Saturday and Sunday, with long delays predicted. Avoid if possible. If you ride Metra, Sunday AM trains don't start until later morning, so consider driving to L stop and riding CTA in. See you there!

Dan, would like to talk after the afternoon sessions. The last 2 afternoon sessions in 201 are of interest. Look forward to seeing you.
I should be there around 10:00 on Friday. That means I will be missing the first session, so the seat saving is on you :)
As for the laptops... it's your call. You won't need it for the sessions, but you'll see a lot of people with them. I bring mine. You never know... might meet someone who can solve a problem, show you something new, or have it to kill time between sessions.
Hi All,I am interested in hanging out too. I will also be attending 301 track, save me a seat Brian :)
Also, does anyone shlep around laptops at this thing? I ordinarily would not but I also don't want to leave it at home if I should bring it...
Hey there everyone,
I will be attending the 301 track on Friday so there's the lunch hour if anyone wants to hang out. As Maureen mentioned, the activity hour on Saturday would be a good time to mini-meet. I hope to get there early Saturday and mill around before the sessions start. We could start the ball rolling then.
About the Twitter hashtags... I see our meetup logo has #WPLC on it, so use that instead of my previous suggestion. There's always #WCCHI, but that will be a busy since it is the official WordCamp Chicago hashtag.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.

I missed the meeting and I'm coming in on this late, but it looks like on Saturday there is a 2 hour lunch period with different activities, i.e.: networking/architectural tour.
If anyone is not participating in the activities, we can have a WPLC mini-meetup over lunch?

Thanks for trying to run with the ball! I think Twitter's a good option if at least a few folks are interested in a mini meet up at camp. However, I'm not sure the interest level since no replies…
At any rate, I will keep an eye out for you and Kari and other group members for sure!
Hey there, if you haven't got your tix for WordCamp they are close to selling out.
Following up on Lora's comment & discussion at the meetup... I'm up for a #WPLC mini-meetup.
Not sure what the next step would be (I suck at this social media stuff) but taking this Twitter with #WPLCMM would be my suggestion.
Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller?

Thanks, everyone, for coming! It was great to see all of you! Looking forward to WordCamp and next month's meetup to share all our favorite plug-ins!
I had a great time at last nights meet-up. Thanks Kari for presenting. It was wonderful meeting all of you. Looking forward to the next one! See you soon!
Enjoyed meeting you all and it was very informative. Thank you Kari ! - awesome info about child themes. I liked Brian's idea about a possible hang out of Lake County Pressheads at the Chicago WordCamp.
It was nice to see some familiar faces and quite a few new faces last night. Big THANK YOU to Kari for her presentation on Child Themes.
Crud... I totally spaced this. Sorry.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight! Don't forget, we're located above the store Decorum in downtown Grayslake at 137 Center St, Suite B.
