WordPress Meetup Group San Francisco - Upgrade to 2.7 and Lightning Talks

This location is shown only to members

WordPress Meetup at SustainableWebsites.com offices at CitizenSpace in San Francisco.

Since this is the first one in a while, it will be mostly social, with a few short talks. 3 minutes max / 3 slides max. Let the group know if you have stuff to present!

6pm - Event starts with BYOB. SustainableWebsites.com will be priming the pump with some beers.
6:30 - Lightning Talks begin
7:30 - Lightning Talks end
8:00 - Event Ends, we have to close the space, people can move to 21st Amendment if they want to continue.

CitizenSpace is a coworking community and generously opens their office to the public for these events. You can find out more on http://www.citizenspa... . Please respect people's belongings and keep their desk areas clean during the event. We are a green office, so please use recycling and composting if possible. When the event ends, it's time to leave.

I'm looking forward to meeting other members of the group and getting this going again. Can't wait to see you all there!

Has anybody used Wordpress MU and BuddyPress in this group? I'd like to hear about your experience with these and learn about best practices. I'm looking to use these for a social network where individuals pay to view video content.

I liked the open format, although I think it'd also make sense to have some slightly more "formal" presentations at future events (perhaps with space/motivation for people to split off (physically) when they want a side discussion).
