WordSmitten Writers Workshop
Meet working authors and journalists in a relaxed atmosphere to brainstorm about "the book biz" and form productive critique groups. Come to a Writers Meetup to review work, trade literary tips, make friends and have fun with professional and dedicated fiction and non-fiction writers.
Tune in to the WordSmitten "About the Books" talk radio show. Recent guests include Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edward P. Jones (The Known World); Sara Nelson, Editor-in-Chief of Publishers Weekly; author and journalist, Mr. Gay Talese (Honor Thy Father), who wrote the artilce "Frank Sinatra Has a Cold" for Esquire, breaking new ground in journalism; and Natalie Goldberg (Writing Down the Bones) noted as a celebrated writing teacher for her innovative "prompts" for getting a story started. Tune in to www.blogtalkradio.com/wordsmitten every Sunday afternoon.
All writers and should-be writers are welcome. As a result of the popularity of this writing group, we now have too many members and prefer to give each writer enough time. To join, there is a short review process and you will need to submit five pages of your current work for the group to review.
A quick note to all our writers. Our next meeting is November 14, one week EARLIER than our customary date. We are meeting from 1 PM to 5 PM.
Our writing workshop will be at the new SPC campus library on 66th Street North between 5th Avenue and 8th Avenue. For a Google map, the zip is 33710. Read more
