“ Our[masked] meeting had eight writers and four critiques. We shared a lot of info about upcoming writer conferences - including Word Weavers boot camp Aug. 12-13. and W.W. members get 50% off registration fees for Speak Up Conference (July 7-9) and Maranatha Christian writers conf. (Sept. 29 - Oct. 1). Critiques: Doug M. shared his surprising conclusion to his short story "The Inheritence," We read part of the first chapter of Avonlea's historical novel, Anne shared the painfully true story of a home mishap, and we read a devotional piece by Darlene on "cleansing" anger... Quite a variety, as usual. Remember Teresa Lasher's book signing at Rockford City Hall on Sat. June 4 (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.), and our Word Weavers chapter-wide picnic on July 19 (details forthcoming). Our next small group meeting is June 7.. See you then! ”

“ Hello, everyone. I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed WW. It has become apparent, however, that I am still unable to manage evening meetings unless I prepare well in advance for them. I'm still learning how to do this, unfortunately. Perhaps by fall I'll have a bit more resilience. I will be teaching some 3 hour BooKit Writer's Resource Workshops on Saturday mornings just once a month starting the 21st with self-editing. I'm ShellyJeanBeach on Facebook. Darlene Larson also has my contact info. I hope to get back to the group before too long. ”

“ Word Weavers has been a blessing to me for connections to other Christian writers, making friends and our critique times. I'm excited for our published authors going through their selling books journey. However I don't look forward to my turn in the sense of having to talk in front of people. ”

Everyone a was so genuinely nice, informative, intelligent and had a lot of information to offer a new person like myself. They sure made me feel welcome and I will be glad to come back to see everyone in a couple of weeks! ”

“ Attending Word Weavers groups and events has greatly empowered me as an author. I am writing my first book and was an extremely reluctant and overwhelmed writer when I started coming to Word Weavers. It has made all the difference in the world to be able to share this experience with other people who have been writing for awhile. I don't know what I would have done without them! ”

“ The west side of GR is conveniently located midpoint on the corridor from Holland and Grand Rapids. Just off M6, 196 and close to 131, we look for terrific central locations. Writing is an individual sport, but even gymnasts and swimmers compete on teams. When we connect, the synergy and friendship becomes the motivation and accountability a writer needs to focus, overcome obstacles and achieve our personal writing goals. I hope to see this group grow, and like the muck fields of nearby Hudsonville, become rich fertile ground for successful writers and published inspirational works. One word at a time and one life at a time, to know God and make Him Known. Your 'Community Organizer' Timothy Burns www.timothyburns.com ”

“ It's special and welcoming. Members at different stages of learning take the fear away of sounding ignorant. Critiquing writing in a small group is an important way to learn how writing sounds or can sound, among other things about the craft. ”
