Word Weavers Large Group Meeting

July's meeting on the 9th is a nod to the 4th of July holiday - as we are meeting on the second rather than the first Tuesday of the month this time around.

Our gathering features a special guest , local author Sue Merrell, who has published three books  - one non-fiction (a memoir) and two mystery-thrillers using a variety of publishing strategies. She also has a background in newspaper editing and writing.
Come with questions on approaches to book-writing, plot lines, character development, etc. and the often murky waters of self-publishing.

We will have our normal time for introductions, sharing about writing projects, and updating the writing conference and retreat landscape. Let's see if any of us made progress after our hands-on session last time covering queries and submissions to various publications.

The Spring Lake-Muskegon-Grand Haven small group will be providing refreshments.

I also want to remind you of our $2 per person donation to cover the cost of our large group meeting facility.

I look foward to seeing you all!

Terry DeBoer

I was saving some cash to put in the hat, but my wallet was empty again.

Once again, thanks to Sue M. and her expertise - She has quite a tale about her moves through the story-telling and publishing landscapes in getting her work "out there."

Sue Merrrell is the most interesting speaker I've heard in a long time. Tons of valuable information about publishing.

It was definitely worth the drive to hear Sue Merrell's message.

I am usually late, so don't pass the basket around too soon...or leave it somewhere where it can be found. I've been working later lately, and it takes a while for me to get out there.
