Our meetings for Oct. are on the 8th and the 29th because of Schuler's room availability. (We decided on this at our last meeting. The normal dates of Oct. 1 and 15 are already taken, and we thought we'd change dates rather than meet in the sometimes distracting cafeteria area).
We will provide shared updates on writing projects and opportunities, conferences, as well as critiquing any manuscripts presented (reminder of guidelines at http://www.meetup.com/wordweavers-mi/files/). Maybe you would want to bring in something you've written previously and have spruced up?
In terms of our study of the Michael Hyatt book "Platform," for the rest of the year we are simply looking at select chapters that appear to have the most interest. Up for discussion on Oct. 8 - Chapter 49 (How to create a "Fan" Facebook page) and Appendix B on p. 225 on suggested blog posts for book authors.
Also - think of a resource/book we might want to consider to look at during the next year. MaryAnn suggested a book with a title "When God Winks" (or something similar) that has been helpful to her in her writing journey.
For November - our large group meeting in Allendale is on Nov. 5 with guest author and agent Ann Spangler (she has tips from both sides of that relationship). And then we're back at Schulers' at the regular time on Nov. 17.
Hope to see you on Oct. 8..
