Gamelan Sekar Jaya: Music and Dance of Bali

Gamelan Sekar Jaya returns to Rhythmix Cultural Works’ stage to feature world-renowned Balinese artist I Made Subandi, who will lead 45 gamelan musicians on three unique gamelan ensembles— the sweetly shimmering four-tone gamelan angklung; the delicate and virtuosic gendér wayang quartet; and Bali's most famous type of gamelan, the gong kebyar—complete with gongs, flutes, and drums. They will be joined by Sekar Jaya’s Balinese dance ensemble with Luh Andarawati (GSJ Guest Dance Teacher). Tix are available here:

I'd love to go. I saw this group some years ago and they are fantastic. But driving from the South Bay to Alameda on a Friday night is like hell with landmines. Hope you can schedule some performances in the South Bay.

PS - Don't know anything about this venue.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
