"Extended" means more features. So PhotoShop CS5 Extended has basic video editing and 3D features (among others) that PhotoShop CS5 (without the 'Extended') does not have. If I remember right, PS Extended comes with Master Suite, eLearning Suite and Technical Communication Suite. Maybe with Production Premium too. But most suites get PS plain ordinary.
