What do you want in a writing group?

  • October 24, 2012 · 6:30 PM

This will be our first meetup. We can talk about what we want in a writing group, our current writing routines, our successes and failures, our experiences, our aspirations, etc.

We can also discuss the structure of the group, how often we want to meet, and the kind of writing forms we are all interested in exploring. Gossip about the world of NZ literature (and the wider literary world) would not go amiss.

My hope is that we can use our (possibly fortnightly) meetings as catalysts for writing more, and in different forms, and about things we've never considered writing about before. There's nothing like the 'new'.

    Hi everyone

On the advice of Shani (thanks!) I have opened up the first meetup to whoever wants to come. Depending on the final number, I could split us into two groups for the future, depending on what people want....we'll see. Also, the new time frame is 6.30pm-8pm (it was 7pm - 8.30pm) as standup comedy starts at Meow at 8pm.

Can't wait to get this started. Kathryn
