Hey folks:Is there any good recommendation for an accurate, well-written account of an experience on LSD? I'm looking for insight into the impact of LSD on perception. Um, for purposes of FICTION.Thanks!

I don't know if this will help you, but I recently heard a story on NPR about the use of psychedelics to treat depression. The story begins with background information about the research, but later in the story, there's also a woman who describes her trip. I hope this helps. http://www.npr.org/20...
Julie: I could actually write you a few paragraphs on a...hypothetical experience. I'm totally in the mood. What say?
Thanks liora! Gene, that would be totes awesome!

Julie: Send me your e-mail address via this site and I'll send you the piece.
Unfortunately, I've had a relapse of this killer cold and won't make it Saturday. I wanted you to know my novel Shoplandia launches on May 15 with a few events in Chester County. Thanks for critiquing one of the chapters in it! Philly Writers Group has a shout out in the acknowledgements. I hope to see you in June. Thanks! http://bit.ly/1rM88Pz

I will be attending the annual Poconos Retreat weekend of the Children's Book Writers and Illustrators that weekend and hope to find an agent or publisher for Willy the Woolly Bear Caterpillar. Will bring back any workshop materials for the group in June.

Hey it's writing related. Will be back in June with info.

Had a critique meeting with an agent and it was thumbs up. With some revisions, Willy the Woolly Bear Caterpillar is on it's way.

That's great, Steve. I'm very happy for you.
Great Steve!! VERY best of luck!!
Today we had a successful meeting with four excellent pieces, approximately 20 enthusiastic attendees, and a ton of fantastic discussion of writing and books on writing. Afterwards, 7 of us enjoyed food and drinks at The Marathon Grill.

Eric: Whose picture is that?

It's Henry Miller. My other profile pic was Thomas Wolfe.

Eric, you were right about Popper. I confused him with Thomas Kuhn. I studied them both in the same class. %-)
I've heard that Thomas Kuhn's writings are very much worth reading. Both Popper and Kuhn seem to be the underpinnings of discussions about science and research. Reading them would probably have been more interesting than trying to figure out why my experiments were not working.
I had actually collected quotes from both for my novel, but they were lost when my laptop died. :-( Backup backup backup....)

Big thanks to Tony Athmejvar for leading the meetup while I was late (due to last-minute injury). Great job!
Great meeting. I especially enjoyed the discussion about our favorite writing resources.
Mr. "Murphy" visited me too...sigh. Will try to make it, but if not, see you all next time. Sorry to miss such a wonderful meeting!
Murphy's law is in full effect at my home right now. will have to attend next month. Everybody please have a good time.
Murphy's law in full affect at my house.
I'll be attending for the first time this month. Can't wait!
I have to drive a bunch of boys to a basketball tournament Saturday so I will miss the month. If any of the writers who submitted work for this month are interested, I can forward my feedback separately from the meeting, or bring it to the next one.
If no one else has stepped forward yet, I'd be willing to moderate this meeting in place of Julius.

Yes. I thought that once they were finished, I could send them right in, but I was sadly mistaken. When the excitement died down and I proofread them, that's when the real work began. Now I'm working on designing the book covers.

I'm excited about meeting fellow writers. I am currently working to put four ebooks on Amazon in the next three weeks.
0 · April 24, 2014
KC, you waited until you'd written the 4 books to put them on Amazon?
0 · April 25, 2014
I wish I could make it but I will be out of town for work that weekend. Hope to see everyone again in June!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
