The Philadelphia Writers Meetup Group Monthly Meetup

It's a new location, The Church is Old First Reformed Church (historic!) and is located on the southeast corner of  4th and Race. The social hall has more than enough room and no one will be there to bother us. The best way to get there is to go into the main courtyard and then go around the side of the building. There is a large door on the 4th street side and that is the social hall entrance.  It's a new location for a very established writers group with a 10 year history.  Check out the "Pages" tab at the top of this page for more info.

Glad I came out this month. It was really worth it. I had so much fun with you guys, can't wait for next month. And for the ones doing NaNo, good luck and best wishes.

The temporary group leader was excellent, much different, not better than Julius, but entertaining nonetheless.

Another postive and informative meeting, despite the cold, rainy weather. I have found out that when I press, it's always worth it. Even my granddaughter, who came with me last month learned a few things.

I wasn't able to make it. Rain was too cold, and I didn't get to finish my schoolwork last night. I'll be there in December.

I didn't include any personal information or photograph. My interest is in non fiction. I have a half written auto biography that needs to be printed.

We recently had a post about a Writer's Competition. from The Jackson Daughtry Literary Honor ( There is a $25 entry fee. The top prize is $1,000 and a book publishing deal. But I had to e-mail them to find out who the publisher was--Grimalkin Press. Then I e-mailed them. It's an online publishing deal. They have not ever published anyone yet, but claim to be made up of people who worked for other experienced publishers (no names).
Frankly, I wouldn't pay $25 to submit my book to this. Just seems kinda iffy.
