Coincidences to get characters into trouble are great; coincidences to get them out of it are cheating.
On Writing by Stephen King (Also the only one I've finished hoping to remedy that soon).
Fiction, mostly in the sci-fi/fantasy genre. Anything geeky.
I'm tempted to copy-paste my answer to the previous question, but I'll add military fiction and anything with intriguing characters.
Well, since you asked so nicely: Gaming is my secondary hobby (after writing, of course). I've been playing video games my whole life, and the gaming industry is one of the few that I actually keep up with. I've seriously considered becoming a game journalist, and I would definitely take the opportunity if it presented itself.
No matter where I go or what I do in life, I'll always be a geek. I live in many different worlds, only one of them being reality. I visit Halo and vacation in the Shire. I fight zombies and befriend aliens. All from the comfort of my home.
