History--somebody's bad novel. Good novel--everyone's truth. The division of fact from fiction is like saying Kudzu is invasive but we, omipresent humans, aren't. The ecology of writing experience as fiction pushes against academic truth.

am of a mind that the social and emotional interactive elements be "mundane," that the speculative stuff oughta be carefully titrated and even if way unfamiliar, immediately acquire its own ecology, have solid continuity, and build to weird.
