What is your favorite writing saying?

Show, don't tell.

What is your favorite book on writing?

Syd Field's Screenwriting guide is pretty good and contains a lot of things that can be applied to fiction too. I've read bits and pieces of On Writing, and found them very helpful, but I haven't picked up the book yet.

What do you write?

I like to write very psychological, cerebral short stories. Dark/Black humor too, but I have to be in the mood for those.

What do you read?

I'm addicted to detective stories-- Chandler and Hammet are both incredible, and I'm working my way through Hakan Nesser at the moment. Hemingway and Cormac McCarthy are also some of my favorites.

Tell me something else about yourself, please?

I just moved to Manayunk last week and I'd really like to get into the writing scene- I keep telling myself that I'll keep to a schedule and send my stuff to more publishers, so hopefully joining a group will help me with that.

I'm a recent college graduate working in TV production. I'm living in Manayunk and am trying to get on a writing schedule.
