    What in the world are you babbling about? I use spell check. I have no idea whether it is American, English or Hungarian. Former? Present? Future? Past perfect? More babbling.

    Both are acceptable, 'whiny' is the orthodox spelling, but 'whiney' is a perfectly acceptable variant. 'Judgment' vs. 'judgement' is another such example, and this one in particular results from Noah Webster's "simplifying" of some English words as written in American English. 'Color' vs. 'colour' would be yet another.
