AWG Meeting - Gathering

  • Jan 1, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

It was a perfect storm working against us having a critique: no suitable location, declining numbers, thin queue, etc, etc.

So we'll gather casually at Pete's, have a slice with old friends and new and talk about writing.  And other subjects.

Hope to see folks there.

I like the idea of meeting on the 1st but postponing the critique until the 8th. . .

I say let's have a meeting on the 1st and postpone the critique to the 8th if too few people show up. I'm not sure I can do two weeks without AWG

I think if the meeting gets light enough, it might be better to postpone and give more voices a shot at the critique, as a service to the author(s) and to other members.

If 11 people actually show up, we could usefully have a critique. Depends on its being held in a readily accessible location, however.

Hi guys! Nice to be a part of the group. Hope to meet some of you soon. My only concern, are your meetups metro accessible? I live in the courthouse area...

    December 26, 2013

    • Roger B.

Yes, Jennifer, WashingtonLee HS is several blocks, through a safe neighborhood, from the Ballston metro station. We often go out after a meeting, usually to an equally accessible spot. Roger

I would like to find a way to have this meeting...but you are correct, Jennifer, that the school will be closed.

Stand by for an alternate location.

Is the school going to be open on New Year's? And would this particular session be a good one for a newbie? It is my first meeting and I don't have any work to share.
