Book Discussion from the Writer's Perspective

Join us at Quail Ridge Books at 6:30pm on Saturday October 19 for our series discussing books from a writer’s perspective. This event is free to attend, and newcomers are welcome.

Our featured book will be John Steinbeck's OF MICE AND MEN. Each month we feature a different book and we will discuss the stories using the five-point framework of 1) character, 2) plot, 3) setting, 4) style, and 5) theme. Additionally, we will discuss how the story came to be published, how its publication impacted the author’s career, and how the story fits within its cultural and historical contexts and how it influenced other writers.

Please plan to have read or at least have some familiarity with OF MICE AND MEN. This is not a requirement, of course, but it is encouraged.

Join or login to comment.

Are there opportunities in your writer's guild to inquire about possible publishers for a persons creative writting?
