Have you ever been commerically or self-published?

Yes. I've had an article published in HOPE Magazine, and one of my speculative fiction short stories has been published in an anthology called Touched by Wonder. I'm interested in seeing what the route of self-publishing has to offer.

Do you have a website you would like to share with the group?

What type of writing are you most interested in?

For fun, I enjoy writing speculative fiction, fantasy, and horror. There's something alluring about building entirely new worlds. However, I think the bulk of my writing focuses on social issues and how to improve the world we already live in. I enjoy doing strange social experiments and writing about the results, as well as blogging about random acts of kindness, local non-profit organizations, and resources teachers can use to include volunteerism and kindness in their lesson plans.

What are you currently working on?

Once upon a time I quit my job, left my home, and ventured out across the country on a quest to save the world. My best friend and I lived on the road for three months, doing volunteer work and random acts of kindness in twenty-six states. I'm currently writing an adventure-novel about that experience. I'm also planning a local "Super Hero for a Month" campaign, wherein I'll live as a superhero, partnering with a new non-profit each day to do a new volunteer project every day for a month, balancing it with full-time work and family obligations. I'll blog about each volunteer experience, hopefully raising awareness and funds for the Triangle area's non-profits while writing a moderately interesting blog from the perspective of a superhero.
