The NYC Fiction Writers Workshop Meetup Group Pages

This workshop will examine various forms of fiction and memoir. You need not be a published or otherwise professional writer to attend. This workshop is open to all levels of proficiency and literary aspiration.
We will be meeting in Westbeth (the arts residence at Washington Street, between Bethune and Bank in the West Village) I ask an event fee of $5.50 per person to defray the cost of maintaining our presence on Meetup.com.

Our format will be flexible and according to the group's needs, but the initial format is this:
Members are required to RSVP at the Meetup.com site at least a day prior to each meeting regarding your intention to attend. You are able to check a Yes or No, .
If you are a "Yes" please show up! Your money will only be refunded if the meeting is canceled

1-Your work will be critiqued (this is not required to attend; we're just as happy if you provide insightful praise and/or criticism). The work will be approx. 10 pages doubled spaced, 12 pt. We will read three pieces. The work will be critqued in the order that it was signed up. People at the meeting have first choice for the next if they have not read.

2- If you can post your piece online at the Meetup.com site in the section called "Files" and post it well ahead of the one-day deadline for signing in. That will give members a chance to read it) ;
3- Print it out and bring a few copies to go around .

I am a published author of three novels and one non-fiction book and have taught creative writing for many years.
