What genre or style do you write in? What type of project are you working on?

I enjoy writing non-fiction topics; either travel writing or history or narrative about places. I have been working a long time on a manuscript of a guide to an abandoned railroad converted to a rail-trail which spans Washington State from the Cascades to the Idaho state line. I'm also working on an article for a historical publication about a railroad route, a travel article about having fun and exploring a city on a budget. In my historical research, I have dug in the libraries, newspaper files, done interviews and the fun stuff "field research." Also...I have lots of notes, clippings and on the DB Cooper skyjacking, an unsolved crime that is almost a part of Northwest folklore.

What are some of the things you would like to gain from being a member of the Seattle Writers Meetup?

I think that being in a group will help me honor my commitments to myself (and for the people who want to see my guidebook for the rail-trail) and get my manuscript wrapped up and put to print. I keep adding more information, but I need to take it from 90 % done to 100 % and getting it in print. I really need some peer help to get that going. Also, since I have my passions, I also enjoy being with people who have their and wish to share them.

Hi, I live in Seattle and have a passion for traveling the back roads of the Pacific Northwest, exploring out of the way and historic places, camping and hiking, mountain biking and railroad history.
