San Antonio Writer's Meetup

For this meeting, instead of a specific writing prompt, we suggest you write any story you want.  It could be one of any number of genres: drama, romance, science fiction, comedy, thriller, etc.

So please note that you do not have to write on any particular topic. Instead,  you can bring anything you're working on. Writers will read their work at the meeting, not to exceed about 1200 words in length. We offer a light critique. Our intentions are to share and encourage.

Most of the time is spent on attendees reading their stories (no more than 1200 words) and receiving a light critique. We also get to know each other better by sharing answers to some icebreaker questions. Occasionally we devote part of the time to a special presentation such as how to publish an ebook.

Gene, I'll also try to keep our group advised on our Summer - sometime in June - ALIR class on copyrights, given by a legal specialist in that area. Don't let me forget, okay?

Very sharing and supportive, as usual, the acoustics were good, as there wasn't much peripheral noise, AND glad to have our dear Gene back!

Thanks, Joe. I appreciate all the support I can get. As I said in the meeting, now comes the hard part.

Too bad I missed it. When I last checked my email this morning I was still on the wait list. Rats!!

You have a good chance of having a seat even if you are on the Wait List, because some of the YES RSVP's never show.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
