Paris Writers United- Meeting #2- Our work and Identity

Hello Fellow Writers,

We will have our next meeting on Monday,September 24 starting at 7:30. If you will be a little late, no worries.

The structure of this meeting will be around the following subjects:

First, for those of you who indeed have a project that you wish to finish via this group, please come prepared with a general timeline and completion date for your project. For those of you who want a writing buddy and/or critical reader, we will assign that person to you at this meeting.

Next, please come prepared to discuss what progress you have made on your text since the last meeting.

Next.. I do want to encourage discussion, but not random discussion. I suggest that we discuss topics from time to time that will assist each of us in thinking more about concepts that enter into our own work. As participants in the group, I will ask each of you to select a topic you feel is worthy of discussion for upcoming meetings. To get us started, I would like to suggest the topic of "identity". How does it enter into your work? How does it affect your writing process? Living in France, if you are not French, how has your identity affected your life here? Has it changed? If you are French, how do you define your French identity?....the list goes on. We should strive always make a connection to our work in these discussions, so, please do come prepared to share at least something of your own work in the context of this topic.

I am limiting the official duration of the meeting to 90 minutes. Of course, if we go longer that is fine. So, we actually have a lot to do in an hour and a half

Please know that I will finalize the meeting place in the coming days.

Thanks everyone!

Rebecca
