Who's hosting? Brendan

*** The TCG at Brier Creek is currently full and not accepting new members. If you are interested in joining, please message Meredith, and I will contact you when we have an opening.***

Active, highly advanced writers providing each other in-depth critiques. Not an open-mic format - critiques are prepared prior to their delivery at the meetings.  Regular participation is necessary, as is the ability to submit new material at least once a month. All genres/forms welcome. Meets the second and fourth Monday of each month. Writers to be critiqued next Meetup: Tim, Jessica, and Elizabeth.

Submissions are due to the group by Saturday, October 12th at 9pm.

NOTE: TCG meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays. The North Raleigh Critique Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays. If you RSVP for TCG you cannot RSVP for the NRCG, and vice versa. This way we can achieve some balance in group size.

How do I access the material being reviewed tonight?
    Thanks....

William, You have to be added to a google groups list which I do not have the power to do, as Meredith, normally the leader of the group, is out of town. Feel free to stop by and get a feel for the meeting.

Hey everyone - I can't figure out how to take myself off the list for tonight, but someone can have my place. See you all next time!

Diana, being most senior, is welcome to come. When Meredith returns for the next meeting, feel free to discuss the topic of attendance with her. Until then, the beatings shall continue until morale improves.

    Hear ye all,

As many of you know I have been named supreme overlord of this group in Meredith's absence (have fun getting married, M!) and my first decree is that all must pay homage to me.

My second decree is more of an organizational point. We have a full group for this Monday, all 10 slots filled. At time of writing, Tim G (one of the writers to be critiqued) is on the waiting list. Naturally, he has a spot in the group on Monday. This brings the minimum number of people showing up to 11. With this in mind, and to keep time down, we're not going to be able to accommodate the other four (aToW) on the waiting list, as we have done in the past.

If anyone currently signed up to attend is unable to do so, please change your status ASAP to allow someone on the waiting list take your slot and leave them time to prepare for the meetup. Life happens, things come up on Monday we did not anticipate, but more notice is better than less. Thank you for your cooperation. See you Monday!

I'm a newer member and I don't mind missing this Monday's meeting to allow someone else to attend. I've read and prepared for the three writers presenting Monday night and I can email my comments to them.

I think established members should always have a spot. But alas, I am not the supreme overlord.

We've been running at 11+ for a few weeks now and we're still finishing on time. As long as we keep line edit comments to a minimum, we'll still finish on time. I can't see excluding people who've contributed consistently in the past. If this is the way we're going, I feel like this is going to become a race of who can RSVP the fastest, and given people's busy schedules and issues of instant internet access, I don't see that as fair. With honor,

    Mark of Western Wake

I couldn't agree more. I was bumped from the upcoming meeting. I don't understamd why

Peter, I still see you as "attending" for this coming Monday, the 14th.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
