By researching writer groups at Meetup.
Let's see. For pleasure reading, I most enjoyed The Corrections, The Long Tail, and a William Safire book on grammar in the past year. As for writing, I write all types of fiction for middle schoolers.
I write or illustrate between two and 10 hours almost every day.
I've had five agents over the years, but never got published in the traditional manner. So I've begun self-publishing and will come out with my eighth book in summer 2014. My website is FREAKY DUDE BOOKS ( www.freakydudebooks.com ) and there you can find original videos, poetry, a blog manned by Dr. Crankenfuss, and Moose Hockey, our new video game.
Yes, on different occasions.
I'm an author and long time teacher and I write for "kids, teenagers, and maturity-challenged adults." I also maintain the Freaky Dude Books website, along with Dr. Crankenfuss, Kidlit’s Crankiest Curmudgeon.
Just one meetup so far, the children's group. So far, very good. The second meeting I want to was also valuable. The meeting of January 8th was very energized and informative. Good group of people who shared a lot. Thanks to Lillian for coordinating it. The meeting of March 13 went for well over two hours. No lack of conversation or ideas or personalities, that's for sure. Fun meeting.
