I am seeking several writers to modify, rewrite, modernize, and/or create using their own imaginations from the book (or books) beginning to end. Here is why.

Remember a while back when I mentioned Disney, well this is what I was talking about.

Some years ago, I began inquiring of an author's estate to obtain a license to use their works for something I had planned. Due to infighting in the family and other reasons, the estate chose not to allow permission to use the works. Fortunately my persistence paid off and after many years I have been asked (due to my reputation and experience) to do a rewrite, re-imagining, and modernization of this body of work (all of its numerous novels). Since then I did the same for several other authors' works. Now I am bringing this to the Writers Support Group.

Why do this?:

Simple, I have been very successful as a publisher and the owner of several publishing companies AND for no other reason than giving some up-and-coming writers and authors a chance for glory. If you know me, you will understand why I chose to do this.

The Task in Regards to the Work(s):

To take the originals and re-imagine them in a new, more modern form and perhaps even in a genre different from what they were initially intended for.

Payment (yes there is Payment! but you must read the rest of the paragraphs):

It is like all works done by a writer who is not writing content on a "for-hire" basis but working on a novel that they hope to have published one day. There is no salary while the work is being done nor is there any advance paid (we are all doing this equally, it is an opportunity to work on something that has a world following already and will add those who work on it to the canon of people associated with it.... but there is at the end of the tunnel, a full share in the profits once it sells). Each member of the team on a book shares equally in the net-profits that it generates for its lifetime. That is how payment works.

Oh yes, each member gets their name in the frontispiece of the books.

If there is no payment during the process, what are the benefits?:

The benefits are that all completed works already have a publisher, a publishing company behind them, a printer behind them, and distribution and retail channels in place already. Not to mention, that the licensing and legal fees having all been taken care of beforehand amounting to several thousand dollars, that no one needs to worry about any longer.

Then what payment can I expect?:

Payment comes in with a full share in the profits once the works hit the retailers' shelves and readers' e-readers and sell. For example, 4 writers on a work equals 1/5 the total net profits as long as the works new form remains in print.

For those of you who want to write but do not have an idea but would like to join a team and work on a book now, then you may find one of the two other meetings at this exact same time and same place. The three overlap and have many of the same points so I can do them all together; also many times people RSVP that they will attend and then do not show up. Since they have not changed their RSVP from "yes", I have shown up and sat for an hour alone since even though there were several RSVPs "Yes" nobody came. With multiple meetings, I am at least assured of somebody there.:) In conclusion - Please do not worry about the fact there are 4 meetings at the same time and place, I can handle all very easily and will give you my undivided attention. Just sign up for the one or ones that you are interested in so that I can prepare subject specific material if need be.

Really tiny corridor area (about 100 feet long), you can't miss us, we are the only people sitting there on Sunday morning at a table.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
