Newport Daytrip

BPC returns to Newport RI for a day of varied photo opportunities around town. We will be joined by a long-time Newport resident, who'll show us some great shooting locations both on and off the beaten path.

Please note, 10:30am is the arrival time in Newport -- NOT the departure time from home ;-)

Update 7/7/09: We will meet at the Gateway Visitor Center in Newport at 10:30am.

There is a parking garage attached to the Gateway Center.* Some of the links below provide info on additional parking options, and those driving can park where they like, but we will meet by the information desk inside the Gateway Center.

I'll be finding out more about our itinerary from my "Newport connection" in the next few days, so stay tuned. I'll be sending my cell # to those who RSVP "YES" a few days prior to the trip, so if you're still a maybe, please get off the fence (to one side or the other) before Wednesday the 12th.

* I don't know the parking rates at the Gateway Center garage; however, they have a deal where you pay just $2 to park all day if you buy a $5.00 RIPTA day pass. We will mostly be walking to our shooting locations, but if parking is pricey it may be worthwhile to buy the pass even if you don't use it. I'll try to get more info on this prior to our trip.

Please remember, carpooling is encouraged for this trip so if you're driving and are able to take riders, please say so in your RSVP, and add a note about where you're leaving from -- OR feel free to contact those who say they NEED rides, via meetup messaging. If you're having trouble messaging someone OR you need a ride and are having trouble connecting with a driver, message me through my profile and I will try to help.
