Drop in class is $18.00 afterwards, Prepaid package of 10 classes is $150.00 ($15.00/each – good for any Yoga or Pilates class at the House of Ayurveda).
The Pilates Method, devised by Joseph Pilates in the mid 1920’s, was the first holistic
approach to exercise used in the West. Pilates is more than exercise – it is a process that will help develop core body strength, flexibility and balance through the use of breath, controlled movement, and mental focus. Some of the benefits of Pilates include • improved balance on and off the mat correct utilization of the deep abdominal/core muscles to help support the back• body awareness to improve posture• reduction of stress and tension – mentally as well as physically relief of back and joint stress • learning proper body mechanics so you will feel better and look better. Mat Pilates is suitable for everyone regardless of age or fitness level. Begin your Pilates journey by coming to class – it is the best gift you can give yourself.
No previous Yoga or Pilates experience is required.
Class instructor: Certified Yoga and Pilates teacher Lisa Leibow
Lisa Leibow began her Pilates and yoga journey after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1981. She became a student of Yoga in the mid 1980’s and a student of Pilates in the early 1990’s. After retiring from the health care industry as an Audiologist, Lisa pursued her dream of teaching Pilates and Yoga in 2003. Lisa brings a positive mental attitude and patience to her classes. She knows the power of positive thinking as it has brought healthy changes and healing to her body and mind. In her classes, Lisa encourages her students to be aware of proper alignment, physically and mentally, as well as promotes self acceptance, empowerment, and love.
Lisa is PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) mat and equipment certified Pilates Instructor and a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified Hatha instructor. She has been teaching mat Pilates since 2003 and yoga since 2004. Continuing her journey as a student and a teacher, Lisa attends workshops
