Sunday Group Runs

 

Look for a bunch of runners congregating in the parking lot.

This run is intended for anyone who wants to do a long run.  A core group usually runs about 10-12 miles, but people come out and do whatever distance they need to, from 3 miles to 26 miles. The Sunday core group always meets alternates between Rohr Park and Mountain Hawk Park.  We always start together, but the runs may vary.

The Rohr runs head east through Sweetwater Regional Park trails and horse ranches, up trails by Sweetwater Summit Campgrounds and beyond; or through trails by Rohr Park, heading west through the trials by the golf range, along the Sweetwater Channel to San Diego Bay Pier and back; maybe the hills at Rancho Del Rey, etc. 

The Mt. Hawk Park runs usually run alongside the Otay Lake, through the trails at Rolling Hills alongside the lake, through the trails at Montevalle Park, through the trails towards Salt Creek Park, the trails by the Olympic Training Center, and beyond.  The longer runs include the trails behind the OTC, maybe the trials down by the lake, or sometimes we take the trails towards Jamul.
