Subject: [sushi-95] RARE sake coming to our club
Dear Members of the Sushi Club of Houston,
Last year, I had a incredible honor of experiencing the best bottle of Japanese sake that I have ever had the pleasure of sampling. It's named 'Flying Dragon.' In the U.S., it's also known as 'Flying Pegasus.' It's an unmistakable bottle - pear shaped, Golden. It isn't easy to get and U.S. distributors might keep one bottle on hand. So you are lucky when you can find it.
Here's a photo of the bottle:
If you can get your hands on this bottle, you are exceedingly lucky. A small brewery in the region of Akita, Japan can produce only 300 bottles of this sake per year. When they are gone.....they're gone.
As of this morning, I was successful in purchasing one bottle from Japan. A new, fresh batch is available and I contacted the brewery, requesting one. My request was granted. Thanks to the extraordinary shipping costs, the total cost was more than $300 for the bottle.
When it arrives, I will select a suitable date in the future for our group. We'll keep the price at $30 per person and allow everyone to enjoy samples of sushi, traditional Japanese sake....and everyone can enjoy one shot (or two) of the finest sake in Japan.
Until then! I'll let everyone know when it
