I have recently been putting hikes and walks on the calendar to try and get myself outside more--as I do, I have heard just some wonderful hobbies that are fellow "meetup" members have--from photography, and also birding--well, I don't know anything about the birds in Texas, and I found this, free lecture series that I thought would be educational--Bob Bullock has a huge parking lot as well, and so lets learn a bit about the birds--(The museum is not free, BUT, we are not doing the museum, we are doing the lecture upstairs, which is FREE)
Something from their web page
Learn more about Texas’s native bird population through a series of lectures held in partnership with the Travis Audubon Society. All lectures are FREE and take place in the Texas Spirit Theater.
Jeff Mundy, past president of Houston Audubon and past board member of Travis Audubon, introduces a range of fascinating central Texas birds, from the Painted Bunting to the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher.
Jeff describes special places in Central Texas to find common birds, migrating birds and rare birds including the endangered Golden-Cheeked Warbler.
Hope to see you there
