Free Staged Reading of "Shot In Baghdad" A comedy about Iraq

A comedy about Iraq? Yes indeed! Golden Thread presents the final staged reading in our New Threads Series with "SHOT IN BAGHDAD" by Jeanne Beckwith and directed by Sara Razavi

Tuesday, May 14 @ 7 PM
At Z Below, 470 Florida St. San Francisco
FREE TO THE PUBLIC
Here's the story:
Can the real-life story of an Iraqi teacher who gave his life to save his students, survive the Hollywood treatment? Bombastic directors, hack writers, self-indulgent actors and Iraqi bureaucracy are all skewered in this fast-paced comedy about what “based on a true story” means in Hollywood.

Golden Thread is in the middle of its fundraising campaign. It is the only theater company in America dedicated to staging plays from and about the Middle East and relies on the generosity of the community to survive through donations. Anyone who attends the reading and donates $25 or more to Golden Thread will receive a t-shirt. All donations are tax-deductible and go towards bringing you the high quality Middle Eastern theater.

Hope to see you at the reading.

I am on the Board of Directors for Golden Thread so I will be volunteering at the show. Come find me and say "ahlan." It's a very small theater and I will probably be sitting somewhere in the front.
