An Improvised "Arabian Nights" is a *long-form improv performance brought to you by some of the Bay Area's most celebrated improvisers and classical Arabic musicians from the ASWAT ensemble. Our heroes and heroines inhabit an exciting world filled with genies, robbers, viziers, magical creatures, kings, princesses, demons, fishermen, merchants, ghouls and more.
Each evening's show is created entirely in the moment without any script. Actors create stories on the spot, ranging from 20-90 minutes in length. Though completely improvised, performances display well-acted narrative arcs similar to that of scripted movies and plays.
NOTE: The show will be performed on Friday, August 1 and on Saturday, August 2. Each night will be new and completely different from the one before.
Stage Werx, which is located at 466 Valencia Street in San Francisco's Mission District, is a few blocks away from the 16th Street BART station. Street parking in that neighborhood can be difficult so car pooling and public transportation is recommended.
There are also a lot of affordable restaurants in the Mission District, which are close to the theater.
I will update the invitation if I can find a suitable place to meet before or after the show.
